Bridesmaids Dresses

Today I gave the girls the heads up on bridesmaid dresses. Here is what they will all look like together...

Won't they be beautiful?

The Flowers!

I've really been putting off meeting with a florist because this is the one area I think I know everything about. Its going to be hard to release controll over the flowers, but I took a deep breath and met with the florist at Whole Foods yesterday. It was supposed to be an exercise in dealing with a florist, but I totally loved the lady working there. I told her my style and she listed the 3 flowers I was thinking of before I had a chance to tell them to her. I got a really good vibe.

For my bouquet- white peonies, green hydrangeas, and green button mums. Something like this minus the roses:
For my ladies- white hydrangeas and green buttons kinda like this:

two cute things!

My friend Drea introduced me to the site www.bhldn.com where you can find a million beautiful things for your wedding that you will never be able to afford. But its fun to look and get ideas.
Here are two things I found on my first visit to the site.

1) little birds nests for the ringbearers. These are only $8 so I actually might order them right now

2) These boutonniers. These remind me of some of the flys Walt ties for his fly fishing. I've been trying to figure out a way to imcorporate that into the wedding and I think these are so beautiful. Maybe Walt could make something similar for him and the groomsmen?

The decorations

Decorating the venue has been the biggest stress in the back of my mind. Luckily the venue is so naturally beautiful it doesn't need a lot, but there will still need to be decorations for the tables. Walt is always wanting me to bring home chemistry things, which gave me the idea of using glassware as centerpieces.

In this first pic you can see how they used tiny beakers to hold tea candles and erlynmeyer flasks to hold flowers. I definitely want to do that. Its a great way to incorporate the glassware and a little about me without making it cheesy.

I love this pic with the little element signs. I'd like to use this idea but instead of random elements I would use Tungsten (W) and Potassium (K). I think they would make really cute cake toppers.

Here is my last obsession. The moss! I love it! I want all of that moss! Since an earthy green is one of our colors I think it would look really nice. I'd like to use silver-gray table covers under it and use the moss as runners or bases for the glassware. What do you guys think? Love/like/hate anything?

Thanks for reading!

Shoes for Him & Her

Kelly bought her shoes when she bought her dress. Did you blog about that, Kelly? Hmm. Anywho, here are the shoes I want. Kelly will call Rocky "Mr. Man" sometimes. And guess what these Italian made shoes from Kenneth Cole are called? That's right - Mr. Man.

Honeymoon (Part 1 of 100)

So, I can't imagine why, but I'm really excited about the Honeymoon (Hence the 1 of 100 title - we're gonna talk about this a lot.) The only problem is, we have no idea where we want to go. One day we'll say the beach, another the mountains. Stay in the states, or try to go down to the Caribbean? The options are really only limited by the question "can we afford it?".

My favorite for today:

Tree House Point

They say: "TreeHouse Point is an intimate alternative for individuals and groups who seek comfort and style in friendly and natural surroundings. All accommodations are well designed and artfully decorated, with touches like handmade beds, original art and charming vintage furnishings." By "alternative" they mean "really rad tree houses nestled over a raging river". They have 4 or 5 tree houses to choose from and each is unique and amazingly beautiful.

We'd love to hear your story. If you're married and went on a honeymoon, where did you go? Or if you aren't, where would you go? Leave a comment below!
